Over the moon the announce that little ole’ me has been nominated for a Liebster Award by @FayeJessicaFN, so thank you very much Faye! For all who were as clueless as I was out there, The Liebster Award is an award presented to bloggers by other fellow bloggers in the blogosphere world. Purely just to support one another! For someone who has bounced back and forth between blogging regularly and going radio silence, I am honoured to have been nominated for this. As part of being nominated, you must answer the eleven questions given by the blogger who kindly nominated you. Then in turn nominate eleven more bloggers and leave eleven new questions for them to answer.
Without further ado, here are the answers to Faye’s questions:
What is the beauty product you use the most?
It’s only been in the past year or so that make up has decided to rear its head in the interest’s part of my life, so there isn’t much in my make up bag in all honesty. I’d like to say I have mountains of things, but I don’t. Though, the one thing I use the most-as it is the only thing I’ve mastered-is my Too-Faced Palette. I don’t know it’s actual name, so here it is in photograph form!
How would you describe your style?
Truthfully I don’t think I slot into any one category when it comes to my sense of dress. I kind of just through something together, put it on, and hope for the best. It can vary from skinny jeans, converse and t-shirt, to knee length, high-waisted skirts and a nice top with flats or heels. It depends on my day really. Though I’ve been told (by very few I must add) that I have a nice fashion sense that is different, so I’ll take that!
This just explains my entire life and clothing… You can’t help but laugh..
What is your favourite movie? why?
Oh! I don’t have just one favourite movie. The favouritism of movies for me changes like the weather. Instead of a favourite movie, I’ll share one that I can go back to time and time again. Which would be Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey. It’s a real tear-jerker, but it captures my heart every time. What’s not to love? Cute animals that talk, hidden messages about family, friendship and bravery, and obviously all the feels! Get the tissues!
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
I’m the type of person who likes to plan things out my head, so it’s a messed up jumble of how life looks like-or how I’d like it to pan out one day. For future reference I would like to have my own place by that time, a steady good job in the industry I’d like to be in, and it’s a bit of a stretch, but I’d love to have a book published by then. It’s wishful thinking, but one can always dream!
Though seriously, just being happy and healthy is enough for me.
Do you prefer summer or winter? why?
Ahh, see I’m not much a fan of either. It’s always been Autumn for me. The lovely oranges and yellows, mixed in with the browns. Just as the summer is getting colder, but the frigid temperatures of winter have yet to set in. That’s my time!
Wrapping up in woolly jumpers, boots, scarves and gloves? Yes, please! Let’s go kick some leaves!
What do you find the hardest about blogging?
For me, it’s finding a routine to remember to write posts, as well as upload them. When I first ever started years ago, I had it down to a T, but everything went out of the window. Recently life has just got in the way of things. The plan of action now is to try to plan ahead to get things done: written and uploaded. Which is why the setting and scheduling of postdates is still in the works.
Another thing I find hardest is the anxiety of those who read your blog, whether they be just readers, or bloggers as well, and they become judgemental. I feel nowadays you have to be up there with the knockouts before anyone takes any notice of your blog.
Would you encourage others to have a blog? why?
If you have the time, energy, motivation, and something to write about, go for it! No one is stopping you; like I always get told when I’m writing my WIP “Write for you”. It’s a bit of advice I struggle to listen too, but if you can take that advice from me, then that’s great! Just write!
If you have a lot on your mind, or you just have a lot or say, then a blog is your space-a safe haven-for your words and opinions to make a home in. A blog can be your little house of words in your corner of the world.
What is your proudest achievement?
That would be graduating university. After studying for four years, I graduated with a degree in English Studies with Creative Writing with a 2:1. I’m the first in my family to ever go to university so it’s a huge achievement, and one for the family history books.
On top of that, I got to use chapters from my novel WIP for my final project/dissertation, which I thought was honestly amazing that anyone read them and liked them! (As stated I’m not a confident writer!) As well being published in the University Literary Magazine as a published author, interviewing a very good friend of mine, and best-selling author, Brenda Drake.
What do you like to do to relax?
As lazy as it sounds, I like to sleep. I could honestly sleep on a clothes line some days.
But seriously, some of the things I like to do is just sit in my room with a nice, warm cup of tea and just sit in silence sometimes. Other times I’ll sit on all my pillows or go sit in the garden and read a good book. You can never go wrong with that! Not to mention, our garden is decked out like Fandom heaven!
What is your ideal working environment?
Personally, I’ve found that I like to surrounded by happy people. Those kind of people you can be yourself around and even though you’re working your butt off, they will still have your back through it all. To have those around you support you, keep you grounded, but keep pushing you to do better… and tell you when you’re doing bad, in the kindest way possible. I can honestly say I have a handful these in my working environment.
As working environments at home for writing, I usually once again take to my bedroom or the garden. They are my havens for writing because no one will bother me. Though if inspiration strikes, I will write absolutely anywhere. For example, I wrote a short story in the note on my old iPhone sat on someone’s driveway. (Don’t worry, I knew the person who lived there!)
What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
Molly. My dog. I honestly would be lost without her. She’s the very best companion a human could ask for. When those dark rain clouds of life start to cover my world, she’s always there to fight them off with mountains of cuddles and constantly washing my face with kisses. These past few months she has been my godsend, so yes, I couldn’t live without her.
